NetUP offers a service - registration of provider independent IP addresses and autonomous systems.
What are provider independent IP addresses (PI-addresses), what and whom are they for? On connecting to
an Internet service provider (ISP) you usually get one or more IP addresses that you require for the work on
the Internet. However, on changing an ISP or expanding your business one will face with that IP addresses,
given out by the ISP, fully depend on the provider. And the thing is even not in that you may be simply
disconnected from the network at any time. The main problem is that the routing of these IP addresses depends
on your ISP only; and in case of a network equipment of your ISP is damaged, it is impossible to access to the
network resources that use IP addresses of the ISP, even if you you are provided with a reserve line from another
ISP. Then on changing an ISP you have to change all the IP addresses and return your old ones. And if you are a
large hoster (or even a meduim one) such a change may lead to re-registration of thousands of domains, etc.
Obtaining once a block of PI-addresses for your purposes will make you forget a necessity to change addresses on
switching lines or changing an ISP. They will be your personal.
Autonomous system (AS) is a main part of a network, a brick that together with other autonomous systems makes up the
Internet. Obtaining a status of an AS automatically gives you a possibility to manage routing of your networks on the
Internet. For example, to receive more cheap local traffic from another ISP, to be a full-fledged participant of traffic
exchange points, and also you can build automatically switching reserve lines. You may have any number of upstream
ISPs.
To obtain PI-addresses and an AS please send a request to
