UTM 5, ISP Billing SoftwareBasic ModuleBasic Module is the basic package of the ISP billing system. It includes the billing system Core, Netflow collector, Remote Firewall Management module, Administration Control Center, Customer Web Portal, etc. Basic Module is enough to deploy a billing solution with resident subscribers having static IP addresses.
Netflow collector of the basic module can be used to meter network (or Internet) traffic in local
area networks in real time. Real-time data processing coupled with remote firewall management
makes the billing software perfect for ISPs who use prepaid billing model - subscribers are
being blocked immediately on exhausting their funds. All detailed network usage data is
stored in a database and can be examined by an ISP for resolving subscriber complaints.
The core of the ISP billing system runs on a separate server (under Linux, FreeBSD, Windows, or Solaris). It can be accessed by an administrator remotely via the Administrator Control Center. Users access their accounts via the Customer Virtual Office or by using the UTM WinTray tool. Additionally, to accept payments, it can be used the Cashier Control Center.
The traffic accounting technology, used for the ISP billing software "UTM 5", can be applied for
dynamic bandwidth shaping. With the use of DynaShape Module flat rates
become more profitable for an ISP.
